The Health Professions Education (HPE) program is a cornerstone initiative by HENAR aimed at systematically transforming Armenia’s medical education landscape. It focuses on developing a strong cadre of skilled educators and academic leaders by equipping participants with advanced competencies in teaching, curriculum design, assessment, and leadership. In partnership with the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (BUCASM) and aligned with national reforms, the HPE program includes a Master’s Degree in Health Professions Education (MSHPE) and a Training of Trainers (ToT) component. As an anchor project, it lays the foundation for a sustainable, innovative, and high-quality medical education system in Armenia.

Pediatric Residency Program
of Armenia

The Pediatric Residency Program of Armenia marks a transformative shift in Post-Graduate Medical Education, introducing the country’s resident-centered training model. Developed with key national institutions and expertise from the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, the program aligns global standards with local needs, offering world-class training and innovative leadership, paving the way for its integration into Armenia’s medical education system.

Rural Family Medicine Retraining Program (RFMR)

In collaboration with the Health for Armenia Foundation (HFA), HENAR implements the Medical Knowledge and Skills pillar of HFA’s Healthcare Leadership Program. This pillar strengthens the clinical competencies of healthcare professionals through structured training that combines theory with practical skill development.The RFMR program, developed in partnership with the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (BUCASM), emphasizes evidence-based medicine and hands-on training to ensure participants can apply up-to-date clinical knowledge in real-world settings.

Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Fellowship Program

The Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Fellowship Program, delivered in 2022-2023, is a 10-month hybrid training initiative aimed at enhancing the capacities of Armenia's and Artsakh's healthcare workforce in critical rehabilitation areas, including neurorehabilitation, burn care, orthopedics, and mental health. The program exemplifies the power of partnerships, uniting leading organizations to foster systemic transformation in rehabilitation services.
